Did anyone here on SS ever start stacking when silver was $5 oz.

Wouldn't it have been lovely if to have had the knowledge then to have started stacking. IMO most of us have missed the chance of a lifetime to stack silver!

Just imagine buying at $5oz, selling at $50 oz or even now at $25oz...Five and ten times your buying price!

Now if you buy at $25oz, if it goes to $50oz you have only doubled your money.

Don't get me wrong, even I started stacking today, I would still be happy exchanging fiat for silver! :)

The days of making a real killing have gone except if silver ever goes to $250oz.

    Anyway back to topic.

Is there ANYONE here On SS stacked at $5 to $10 oz. i WOULD LOVE TO HEAR YOUR STORY! :D

    Regards Errol 43

I started stacking when silver was much closer to USD $50 per oz than to $5 per oz. :(

I would still be rounding down. I think my average is somewhere around $21. I finally started at $18.something if I recall correctly which was basically bang on the bottom. Pretty happy with that. Now just sitting back mostly.

Just think if you bought in at 5, sold at high 40s, then bought back in at 18 and were riding back up again.

I collect local silver numismatic, but my appetite begins when silver price dropped down.

My initial objective is to accumulate slowly and finding good deals. Future for silver might be promising now than before, who knows?

I started stacking Commonwealth Bank shares $13-15 on the back of my fathers advice. (checked box to have dividends reinvested). Was the biggest legend in the world the day I sold out in the $30's.

Had I bought silver at $5 I'm not sure I'd still have any.

$5 to $50 is the same as $25 to $250.

    Easy.

    Not really

Last time silver was $5 aud was in 1991

and in 1991 you could buy a house in Melbourne for $100k and a 2 bedroom flat for $50k

Silver wasn't that great an investment back then

Relative to property, silver is cheap now

The definition has changed. When silver was $5 or $5-50, there were no "stackers".

    They were collectors and/or investors.

I did for a little bit. I really started buying when silver was $9.30 an oz back in 2005, and bought 300oz's of it. Sold when it went to $13.30 3 months later and paid off my truck :)

LOL!!! I'm a teen and my parents tried talking me out of it. I went ahead, and just showed them my 4 digit profits, and now they're fine with it.

Started in 2011 here. Made zero dollars so far. Haven't bought any metals since 2012.

Stack is tiny compared to many others. Still think I should have invested more in myself than have it tied up in silver. Silver will rise again if you wait long enough. Probably soon, who knows. Seems to be on an uptrend. Gold has done better than silver in the timeframe I got in, taking into account our low AUD.

What's your average if you don't mind my asking. O feel like we have a long way to go before a lot of people will break even unfortunately. I was incredibly lucky with my timing and I think I'm sitting at around +30-35% on my silver and up about 15% on gold.
