Hi Fellow Stackers, My super fund takes 2 or 3 days to change the investment (for example) from growth to cash. Does anyone know of a fund that changes it the same day or that allows you/me to do it instantly? Also do any super funds allow you to allocate certain percentages into different investment options? Thanks for any advice. Regards
Have a look at Australian Super, but the allocations are only in the top 300. Otherwise, only option I know for that is one you control yourself (ie SMSF).
Have a look into some of the apps such as Superhero, RAIZ etc as they have options to invest your superannuation balances or even Stake (which may even set up a SMSF for you I think). I'm not sure if you need to set up an SMSF to use Superhero's or RAIZ's super platforms though, you may have to transfer the balance of your super fund across to them however or maybe a portion only. My experience with RAIZ (a few years back now when it was Acorns) was that you could jump in and out of the various portfolios very easily, I didn't have any super funds invested with them though and no longer use them as I select my own stocks. And I would imagine with Superhero it would be like having any share trading account meaning that buying and selling would take place in real time, again I don't use super funds to invest with them either I use personal funds at this stage only. We have our own SMSF but I have set up some accounts with Superhero and Stake to buy/sell shares using SMSF funds but haven't begun to do that as of yet. SelfWealth is another to investigate, again I'm not sure what they offer in the super market as I use personal funds with them only. Lastly there is the option to set up your own SMSF if you've got the time to manage it. The skills come through experience though which at your stage in life may be a little risky to learn. I've been managing mine for about a decade and I'm about the same age as you so I've learnt some valuable lessons from the mistakes I've made. But then if you've got a handle over what you want to invest in then maybe it's the way to go.
Thanks Shiney, Yea no point setting up a SMSF as I only have 3 years to go to get my super and I am not adding to it. So just trying to keep the capital. Just want to be able to put it into different portfolios quickly. As an example move from balanced or growth to cash when the market goes down and vicki versa. Thanks for the help. Will look into them.
