The Airtites definitely look better but depending on the size of your stack, their cost can add up quite quickly and I wouldn't say there's any extra benefit to spending the dollars on them. I only have them for loose semi-numi/numi coins that came in the plastic flips.

Did the Sunshine Mint round with the new security thingy arrive?

I got a tube of ASE, took them all out and put them in air-tites straight away.

Cost me about $20, they don't stack and take up 3x the space.

Not really worth it for bullion.

I did go on eBay and found that you could buy crates of air-tites for waaay less than you could get them in Australia but I never bothered to follow it up. I would probably get some for my coin collection but no more for the bullion.

For straight bullion, I don't bother.

Only time I have is for my Kook set.

Is it worth spending capsules on all your bullion? Bullion is weight is silver with or without finger grease and oxidation. Having said that, some bullion and especially numismatics carry premium. At that point you could argue whether it's worth spending the extra little bit of money on capsules to maintain that premium. Keeping your silverware in 'mint' condition. I believe it is.

As for your true bullion rounds and bars ... do yourself a pleasure. Dump it all over your bed and roll around in it! Bit strange but it turns a shit day into a fantastically satisfying one.

My first few orders of 20, 1 oz rounds are in air-tites and all those in a tube. now I don't care and just keep them in the shipping tube they came in. :)

Why not buy Lighthouse capsules on Ebay. Less than half the cost of a Airtites.

    http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/14073523...eName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1439.l2649

A hundred 39 mm capsules cost $32.92 (Australian) with postage. Admittedly the Airtites are better quality, but if you just wish to protect bullion coin these are the way to go. Also, the Lighthouse capsules are better disigned for opening and they stack well... Regards.

I'd love to get a fractional gold panda or two, but the plastic pouches really put me off! Especially since removing them apparently affects the resale value. I'd rather pay a few cents for a protective case than have a damaged coin.

Because I can never buy full tubes I use airtight capsuals on everything, even my buffalos. Have done two orders for round and rectangle airtights from one UK seller and one Us seller on ebay and the price percapsual has worked out quite cheap. I recommend airtights for thoes who purchace one or two ounces at a time but if you have a full tube then I can't see the point in adding to the cost.
And yes I swap any mint packaging over to air tights (while wearing cotton golves) to keep the coins in the best possible condition.
One day I'll give up the capsuals and become one of the big boys buying in tubes. :p
