    Interested in hearing your thoughts.

I know of the Peter Strich example from a few weeks back selling 2008 rolls @ $50 a coin, but I see that as the exception rather than the rule.

Hmmm reasonable price, spot plus $10 :p wish you could get them for that though

Can't see many people selling these particular birds for those sort of prices.

So a reasonable price, maybe, but what do you think is a realistic price for these bad birds?

I've bought 2009's for $43each recently when in a roll but $55 individually. Spot was between $31 and $33 at the time I think.
10oz worked out at $45/oz but that was a pretty reasonable price for such a stunning coin
If you can find the right buyer, should be able to get around the $55 mark. There's one on eBay for $75 so watch that and see what it ends on to get a good indication. O/S buyers usually pay more too

There's no re-strikes on the 2008 and 2009 Kookaburra, they are sold out mintages in their own right.

Collectors come in all categories, some don't care about re-strikes, some do and some have no idea why they collect or what the difference is.

imo, a sold out mintage (Limited mintage) is a collectors dream.

The 2008 and 2009 mintage has no re-strikes!

The 2008 Kookaburra is the first kook coin to have a sold-out mintage apart from the initial release 1990 coin.

A realistic price for the 2008 and 2009....especially the 2008 Kook is not to sell them.

You should lock the 2008 in the safe, forget and wait.

Now let's not be too hasty here. Let's be reasonable - I was just checking ebay before reading this thread and saw that an uncracked roll sold for about $43/coin in September. I'd be willing to buy for $44

    Hi finicky

There's coins sold by people that don't follow the market.

How long did those 2008 coins stay up for sale? 20 minutes or less.

Just recently we saw a 5oz rabbit sell for 185 bucks and we also saw just recently a 5oz sell for 400 bucks and....that's on ebay Australia.

So, the bargain prices may not be a true indication of a coins value.

    Just saying :)

I guess every now and then you have seller who put BIN price at what they think is a fair price. We all have bought that deals before on ebay :D

Yes, you just have to be in the right place at the right time .. and be quick to hit the buy button

Imo i wouldn't pay the ridiculously inflated prices for these kooks, unless you're willing to gamble on the numismatic aspect.

I don't see how they're ridiculously inflated. The market pays in the $50 to $75 range for the 08 all the time, so while it may be inflated to you, it is the market price. If you find them for less, buy them, flip for a profit and buy some cheap bullion, everyone's happy....

The market can be finicky. Today's craze for some of these kooks may end tomorrow. the dragon is a good example. Personally i would not not buy bullion coins fir $50-75, but good luck to those that do.

    37ea for a roll of 2009 $740...
is too close to the re-mint price. it was buzzed out in no time.

40- 50 may be reasonable range.
considering the mintage and upside potential with all the re-mints, with higher silver spot price.

above 60 and be at the higher rage, since it will be better to buy the re-mint, for closer to half that price.
