    Perth Mint 10oz: $364.20

    Bullionclub 10oz: $359.50

    Southern Cross 10oz: >$370

    10oz Coins: >$400

If coins, could you please specify what type you'd buy (right at this moment) and provide a current price?

    Thanks!

I'd pick the cheapest option if buying in bulk, except I'm not a fan of Bullion Clubs design, so I'd go with the Perth Mint.

If it's a single item purchase, then I'd pick Southern Cross only because I don't have any Southern Cross branded bullion :p

The answer to this question depends on what you're trying to achieve?

Do you want the most ounces per dollar?
Do you want a bar that stacks well?
Do you want something that looks pretty?
Do you want a minted coin?

Coins, not a big fan of large masses of metal, would prefer to sell ten small coins. I figure if you put up the premium on a coin, and then sell ten of them you might get a bit more than trying to put the same premium on a single bar.

Not that there would be much difference in 50 cents extra on an ounce coin and $5 on a 10 oz bar.

Buffalos x10 for $382 at bullion bourse.

Id buy these over a 10 ounce as there may came a time when you want to seperate. Other posters are right as much as it depends on many variables. But if this is a first or major purchase to you then id suggest sticking with the 1 oz bullion.

Another option would be the fiji takus ($402 x10 but currently sold out) or koalas for $395 for 10. (bullionbourse)

You could also get the 2011 Mexico libertads from bullion money for a little over $42 each, they also do lunar mice for around $42 which are proberbly a great buy.

Just look at how slow the 1kg bars are moving and you can tell Jislizard is correct ;)

There's a 1kg bar for sale at spot and has been sitting there for 2-3 hours.

    http://forums.silverstackers.com/topic-10905-fs-brisbane-1kg-perth-mint-bar-for-sale-at-spot-50.html

Personally would rather get 30x1oz coins than a 1kg bar :p

And 9 coins over 10oz bar.

you can choose the one that are readily accepted.

or one that people will most likely look for in the future.

or just buy whatever you can afford given the choices you have.

I prefer 1 oz silver coins (under $40 each), preferably well recognised ones bought in bulk because they are cheaper, simply because if the price goes a lot higher they will be easier to resell.

But saying that, if the price of silver dropped to $30 an ounce or less, I would go for any silver close to spot including bars - it may be hard to find silver anywhere or anyone prepared to sell it if the price dips this low!

I received mine today, and... already owning a perth mint and a 10oz coin - still beleive the SC bars to be the absolute best value - whats in a tenner for a bar you'll absolutely LOVE...

    None of the above.
Like goldpanner says, popular 1oz coins easy to sell on would be my choice.
I quite like any coins without the queen's head on them. Austrian Philharmonics and Silver Eagles are two pretty popular ones I like, preferably in whole tubes.

I quite like the way the Perth Mint coins come individually encapsulated though. However, Liz is out for me.

Prefer coins - found bars up to 10oz can move, past that the premium is very low but the price can be high for trading/selling.
