Very sceptical. Some things make no sense at all.

EG - The Anunaki. Ummm no.

Theory: They were here to mine the gold to take back to their planet to clean their atmosphere which they had damaged with their modern life style. They created us as slaves to do the hard work for them.

ORLY? Gold, the most non-reactive, stable and inert element can somehow help catalyse climate change on their planet?

And this mega advanced species - they left their tales scratched into slabs of stone? That was the best way they could think of of documenting their stay? Build a spaceship - check. Genetically engineer a slave species - check. Leave a message for later generations..... best scratch that into a stone tablet huh? Really?

Single common ancestor? Check. Has to be genetic engineering, can't be a natural mutation? In an infinite universe there are an infinite number of possibilities. A 200,000 year old mutation is at least as likely as genetic manipulation by some long lost space faring slave makers!

No. There is no logic in this. It is compelling, but ultimately Mr Pye's credentials as a novelist show trough.
