If you're investing then you can part with anything. If you're collecting then there are going to be items that stay with you. People have to understand and respect the 2 different mindsets.
Even thought the 1 ounce Pamp Suisse horse bar is a "bullion bar" to me, It's numismatic as well because of the artwork and premium. The bar is stamped with the number and purity as well as the assay card. It's a gorgeous bar, But people will see things in different ways. The Pamp Suisse imho, Is the most gorgeous bar. Just my 2 cents
I'm like many others, everything is for sale for the right price. But my misses on the other hand would rather sell me than part with her Perth Mint Australian Historical Coin set.
If I could post a photo of the other half and the coin collection side by side I think everyone would agree with me.
that's perfectly fine. I wouldn't sell my Mongolian wildlife coins to anyone, but I certainly consider myself as a money driven person when it comes to PMs. A true collector buys something because it makes them happy, not because they are seeking financial gain. It's a hard trait to understand if you're driven by money. There are certain people here that belittle collectors, and that is incredibly close-minded - not everything needs a $ sign attached to it. happiness over money.
Indeed. I have both. What I know I'll sell when the price is right, and what I hope to pass on to posterity (my kids). I say hope, because in a major SHTF scenario, if I had to barter to save my families life, I'd give it all up.
really?2oz rabbit?does not seem to me these days. also,if I recall correctly u said the same thing about the 2oz kooks and they are just as hard to move...of course if priced right going fast...
Day and Night Somali Elephant set would be one of the last, but CK has got me onto high relief lunars and they would be my mothers favorite, my wife likes the Freedom Girl but she admittedly dislikes my coin purchases
I wouldn't sell any of my 2oz proof kooks or any of my 2oz lunars proofs and bu's or any of my 10 oz proof kooks.
If prices went to some ridiculous level then everything would go. Last would be my full set of 1oz kooks.
This is one I would hold on to until the very end 1995 1oz Kook with Gold Panda inlay privy. It was to commemorate the Beijing International Coin and Stamp Show held in Beijing that year.
i would never sell my kilo year 2000 diamond dragon coin and the coin in my display pic, a 5oz special edition dragons of legend coin, every time i pick that coin up.....omg, just stop it! lol
As an investor rather than a collector I don't really have any coins worth holding on to. Numis are lost on me
