I've been stacking silver bars for a little while now and was thinking about switching it up a little bit just to get some variety. I haven't bought any silver rounds yet or collector pieces but I was just curious what your opinions were on the subject of the most sought after pieces. Something that carries over its premium on a resale market and even increases in value. I know it varies quite drastically between collectors on what they cherish most in their collections but in your opinion what are the items that are on your MUST HAVE list? On a side note I hope all you collectors and fellow stackers have a great New Year. May your stacks be bigger and your treasures be safe May you have ample food, sturdy drink, a pillow for your head and may you be 40 years in Heaven B'fore the Devil knows your dead. -AUAG
My advice is lunars and pandas are the best for holding their premiums But honestly if I like it I buy it
The best modern coin is the 2013 silver Koala with Chinese privy (Pictograph) This is the Key-Coin to the whole Koala series. https://redmondmag.com/articles/2015/01/08/azure-key-vault-preview.aspx
You have to find your "jewel" before they are jewels and still rough. My "jewel" while only 50% silver is a 1935 NZ Crown that i paid $800 for many years ago. It is now worth $5000-$9000. If i sold for $5k it would get snapped up , if i aimed for the $9k it may take a long time (but would sell)
Edo period 1ryo kiban from 1819. I've managed to lose the japenese certificate/book somewhere in my room or car or something. It was a little over spot but totally worth it.
My NWO silver round,I will never sell it because it is the silver round that introduced me to PM,s. I have no attachment to any other pm I have bought for my stack other than one of my two full collections of bullion ASE,s.
Right now I'd say that it's a tossup between my 2013 1 Kilo Silver proof-like Libertad and 2014 5oz Silver Proof Britannia...BUT, I suspect that if I can acquire one, then this this will knock those off of their perch...
