Just wondering what is a good price above spot when dealing with coins and bars?

    I have been quoted

NZ$880 shipped for a 1kg Perth mint bar, approx $27.5 per oz

    NZ$552 shipped for 20 x 1oz walking liberty, approx $27.6 per oz

Considering spot is NZ$22-$23 is this $4-5 above spot reasonable?

    Cheers

Hi, maybe interested depending on condition, year and how many you have. Do you have rolls of 20?

    Cheers

$150 over spot for a bar is a little rich, I'd be looking for around $1 or $2 an ounce over spot max unless there's something special about it. $26.50nzd isn't bad for maples though, if the shipping is reasonable it's probably a good deal but make sure you always factor that in. I'd take maples over walking liberties any day.

You should have a look at some of the bigger bullion websites even if they are here in Australia, like perth bullion, then use them as a yard stick for roughly what's reasonable.

Actually the shipping cost and currency conversion cost will make it more expensive than buying from nz
