    Hi,

I was the high bidder on a recent auction held by a local on line auction house here in the States. No concerns, all is legit and the coins are in the mail to me, all in capsules and came from a well cared for collection. Here are the PM coins that I picked up:

    10 oz 2008 Koala
    5 oz 2009 Lunar Ox
    2 oz 2000 Lunar Dragon
    1 oz 2009 Panda
    1 oz 2009 Kook

I won these as a single lot at the auction for $565 USD. My quick research on line indicates that in total this should be well below current eBay values. Do you agree? What if anything in this lot is a keeper and what if anything should I flip? I do have a few PM coins but these are my first Koalas, Dragon and Ox. Yes, I do know there are better coins to hold but these all seem pretty nice.

    Thanks, Drew

Seller is mad for listing them together. Would have made heaps more listing individually.

    Your good fortune.

That's a great pickup. You'll always be able to find a buyer for the 2000 dragon and 2009 ox.

I'd value the lot for at least $850 USD, well done.

That all sounds good to me! The main picture for the lot on line showed all the coins with the Lizzy side up, bad move on their part I think. Since it was a local outfit, I don't think there were a lot of people familiar with PM coins or at least they didn't bother to look closer. Most of the collection was ASEs and US gold coins, those got a lot of bids. Lucky for me that I frequent this site and have learned to watch for quality coins from around the world!

The 5oz ox would probably be around 250-300 AUD.

    The 10oz 2008 koala is around 500USD.

So that alone means you made quite a good deal! Hopefully taking into consideration any fees for the auction and that the coins are in good condition. :)

Here is the main picture that they used for the auction. You guys would of course alert on this but the locals in my area would not know what these coins are worth. They only bid them up to spot.

Eureka, local Ohio site rules require the winning bidders to show up the next day to pick up the items (like I said , a local operation only). They only agreed to mail to me because I am currently in Alabama and couldn't get there but have a local address and paid a bit extra to get them to pack up the coins. They would not be willing to ship half way around the world.

Link would still be good. Im interested in prices of things in different parts of the world, it assists in my stacking strategy. :)

    Flip

    2 oz 2000 Lunar Dragon
    1 oz 2009 Panda
    1 oz 2009 Kook

    Hold

    10 oz 2008 Koala
    5 oz 2009 Lunar Ox

The Koala's are becoming more popular.

The 5oz Ox was once very disliked but is gaining popularity.
