I seem to be doing better with mantiques & car parts lately So why not see what else you scored today I picked up a box of old ashtrays , I've never seen Bakelite ashtrays inside a tyre I got 3 this morning , and the box wasn't cheap either , but well worth it
Paid $200 for a box of 15 of them 2 of them are worth $200 alone I'm keeping the best one as only one other has been seen And that's only 3 of the 15
I have an antique shop and previously bought and sold at camberwell market for several years. The ashtrays would retail for an average of $50 each depending on what advertising is on them (some more some less) A fews back they were selling even higher but with the decline in smoking people arent buying smoking related items. But as these are Tyre shaped and have car related advertising, they still retain a decent value.
Glass Shell Motor Spirit There's a green one in there that didn't make it in the pic 3 Bakelite , a green color and red And more And they didn't even hit the floor at Camberwell market this morning
Just got back from a swapmeet $20 for 3.8gm of 9K I got talked into buying this for $10  I thought the guy would have wanted more as all his car radios that I wanted to buy were full retail AND A " ROLLS ROYCE " ashtray Which I left at my mates place
That ring is PM spanner!!! If we were on Whirlpool I'd report you for being off-topic, or pointless, or bad, or floccinaucinihilipilificationist. Nice pick-up though, 1/3 of spot value
Oz and Spanner, Do you fellas ever come across any old vintage radios - from the 40s to the 60s? Some are going for good money at the moment. Not a collector just appreciate the quality and design of vintage radio. It would also be interesting to see what is on the AM airwaves these days.
Picked up my Rolls Royce ashtray today Going on fleebay shortly Don't really want to part with it , but a Sovereign could sway me
