If it's 1/2oz bullion, not proof, this is far too high - closer to $75.

Sorry to thread crap, had a chance to get a 1/2oz proof rabbit (1999).

Anyone know what is a reasonable price for that rabbit?

    Cheers,

May I hijack this thread and ask what the forum/hive-mind estimates 1/10oz gold lunars (Series 1, BU) to be worth, in a fair market? I only have a couple of these but I reckon I paid way too much for them, got caught up in the moment *sigh*

If I have the years wrong or have listed a non-existent coin, feel free to correct!

Look, I've even done all the typing for you! Plugged in some guesstimates but they're probably off :)

    1/10oz gold Rat/Mouse (1996) $250
    1/10oz gold Ox (1997) $250
    1/10oz gold Tiger (1998) $250
    1/10oz gold Rabbit (1999) $265
    1/10oz gold Dragon (2000) $300
    1/10oz gold Snake (2001) $250
    1/10oz gold Horse (2002) $280
    1/10oz gold Goat (2003) $250
    1/10oz gold Monkey (2004) $250
    1/10oz gold Rooster (2005) $250
    1/10oz gold Dog (2006) $250
    1/10oz gold Pig (2007) $250

Those amounts look about right. Maybe closer to $210 or so for the dog and pig though, the most unpopular of the lunar years. The pig isnt so surprising but dogs are usually quite a collectable theme and its surprising the dog remains at the bottom of the lunar pack. I'd have thought a dog coin would be more popular in terms of value than a rooster or goat coin but not the case it seems.

Slightly OT, but I picked one of these up the other day, it was in a square PM capsule.

Is this normal for this 2oz 1999 coin? All web pics seem to show the normal round capsule as per all other S1 2oz coins.
