Went out for a bit of last minute Christmas shopping and ended up in a coin shop, bought all his stock for spot price 101oz of mother earths finest silver rounds all various oz's Out of curiosity do any of you have any preference on oz rounds ? I like the maples.
I'm sure we all have days when we question if we're doing the right thing. I guess the way to look at it is silver is on sale http://forums.silverstackers.com/uploads/12417_image.jpg
Lucky you having a coin shop that sells at or near spot. Maples are kind of boring, Philharmonicas - don't like the smooth edge but they are shiny. Best are all Perth Mint, Britannias, Libertads, Eagles and the rest. What coins did you get ? Not that clear on your picture.
A mix bag really, britanias, eagles, maples and some generics. there are 50 Baird & Co coins which I've never seen before. Gave 12 an oz so I'm happy with that
I bet you are ! Crickey - good price so hopefully the shop you bought from doesn't monitor this site.
I've bought in there a few times, but he usually only has one or two silver coins and the odd gold coin if anything, I've been in many times and he has nothing. It's more of a ancient Greek or roman type coin shop. (He has thousands of them) I once bought a coin of him that's over 200BC, it has no PM value but I got it because it was interesting and only 10 He always sells at spot price, but pays very little when buying
What happened in the last five days for such a big change of heart? Not trying to start haves vs have not argument but I am curious.
Not sure what type of people your used to on here, but why on earth would i come on a website to make things up ? I'm getting the feeling this is a very clicky forum where new members are not wanted or welcome ! http://www.yell.com/biz/david-m-regan-southport-1174469/ ^^^ there's the guys link ^^^ I'll await your apology hey
Yes it's quite feasible to find a dealer that sells at spot the optimist - I'd keep my mouth shut about that coin shop if I were you
I'm not actually sure what the big issue is at him selling at spot price ? He probably buys in at 70 or 80 % of spot. Think the shops been there for about 40 years and it only opens a couple of days a week, its just an old chap on his own making an honest buck whilst doing a hobby. If you sold a coin to someone, you'd want spot price for it so then the buyer would be buying it a spot price, exactly the same !
I should apologise for my wry grin. But it's probably fair to say most of us down here in sunny oz are not in the habit of buying at spot from anyone, anywhere, ever. So to hear a dealer sells at spot is well, everyone's maddest dream come true. Hence some "cautious" and perhaps mildly sarcastic grins. If the guy has a website post his URL. I'd say we'll crash it with inquires by 11.15
Don't imagine he'd have a website ( let alown a computer ) the fellas probably about 75 with a little stall in the back of a shop. I remember him telling me once that he thought sovereigns would never sell for 5 back in the day when that was the spot price, what must he have thought when only a few months back they where 270 ish ? There's a link to him http://www.yell.com/biz/david-m-regan-southport-1174469/
