Should 'we' be stacking Water and Food?
Bill Gates, Rockefeller, Syngenta and the GMO giants invest in "Doomsday Seed Vault". Do they know something 'we' don't?

Should you be concerned about breaking your local laws if stacking water or food? (both Australia and USA have anti hoarding laws in place - check your local government to find out how much you can 'hoard').

Australia produces more than twice the amount of food we consume, and there is real concern lower levels of foreign investment would lead to lower food production, and this could result in higher food prices.

Perhaps, water and food are the best investments, and a sure thing with no 'bubble' in sight.
Let's look at some interesting bits n pieces...

How does Australia fair with foreign owned farms/agriculture?
However, this does not take into consideration farmers bank rolled by foreign investors, as is common place with many small businesses and pty ltd companies.

I would like members to not only give their opinions, but 'evidence' FOR and/or AGAINST investing and hedging in both water and food.

I aim to have a convenient collection of indisputable references, whether you agree or not, whether controversial or not, whether biased or not, whether manipulated or not on this thread.
Goal is to allow the reader to make up their own mind based on arguments/evidence for and against (as it should be).

Prefer to stay clear from BLOGS or opinions found from non officials or representatives.

Wouldnt a better investment be land with its own water supply, plus enough acreage/farmable land to grow your own food? Or are you saying the government might take it away and so we should be collecting food and water and hoarding it instead?

I've had a look around, and it seems I don't know where to look, to find reference to anti-hoarding laws in Australia. I'm referring to ones that are currently in effect. What is the law called exactly? I'm interested to know what they say we can't hoard, and why.

I live on a farm, but if it came to it, I could grow plenty of acreage by hand, it isn't that difficult, especially if you have antique equipment that cna be used with a donkey (have one) or by hand. It is amazing how much equipment has changed, but the old stuff worked, especially since it doesn't use gas, and can easily feed a family if the man is willing to work [and if you have sons, you have it made lol].
