    I wouldn't get too excited, Mater Prize Homes have been giving gold bullion away as one of their major prizes for as long as I can remember. :)

    Story on yahoo/msn about 19 year old girl who won fully furnished apartment, holiday and $70000 worth of gold. She has been very smart about the whole thing. Cashed in the gold though to pay her mother money she owed her, put the rest in bank account to earn interest.

    Correct me if I'm wrong, but doesn't Queensland have some kind of law against paying out prizes in cash? It might be a tax thing rather than an actual ban but I remember seeing lots of prizes listed as $xx,000!!! (or $xx,000 worth of gold bullion for winners located in Queensland").

    She should have sold the fully furnished apartment and with those proceeds pay off her mother, put the rest into gold, silver & cash.
