Maybe Pelican can clarify for me briefly before I do lunchtime research but...

What if I had a Japanese bank account?

    If so...

As far as I know, doesn't matter what bank account you have, Mt Gox is having huge delay.

If you have a Japanese bank account you'll be fine for withdrawls.

Careful though, Gox made a big mistake yesterday by "rewinding" trades after that big sell. I would guess there may be repercussions.

Cashed out using Mt Gox last week...(I can recognise a bubble when I see it) very laggy site... but I've got my currency now. Much quicker than the 4 weeks I saw somewhere.

It was an fun interesting ride, but I don't think I shall be partaking further in the frivolities.

You cashed out AUD from Gox and got the money?

I have some friends that are going to be super pissed when I tell them that, been waiting over 4 months for less than $10k withdraws!

This has been doing my head in (I seem to never have a 'win' with these sorts of things).

Have you guys (your friends) tried again since last time?
(Maybe I got lucky with a site upgrade?)

Maybe I was successful because I withdrew such a small amount (<$2000.. kicking myself now  )

Anyone tried withdrawing AUD from MtGox recently?wondering if it's worth having a crack - currently trading for $1095 AUD on there.

tried to withdraw 4 weeks ago, still didn't receive money (< $2000).

    .....Dear Valued Custonmer,
We apologize for the delay in getting back to you. On checking your account I can see that your withdrawal was initiated on 2013-12-18 and yet to be processed. International withdrawals are delayed due to huge backlog, our team is working hard to resolve this as soon as possible. We are in talks with various banking partners to provide a better solution. You can expect a advance banking providers at the earliest. I will keep you updated once your withdrawal is processed.......

So does that mean Btc is rising on mtgox simply because everybody that wants to get their money out has no option but to buy bit coin and transfer that out because they can't get cash out ?

Seems mtgox is rather meaningless as a market price then

Gox let you trade between BTC and $.
Only withdrawals to a bank accounts are problematic.
There are better options for withdrawal bit Gox still let everyone lock $ profits in.

Well... withdrew 4.7 BTC from MtGox yesterday. Got a hash for the transaction, but it's been 24 hours and yet to show up as a transfer - account balance has been debited, but no bitcoins have actually been transmitted.

Previous withdrawals have been of the "within minutes" type of experience.
