Yes very lucky. I bought 1 through as a test and it got through no charge. Then bought bigger lot and got caught. Paid my dues, but not gone that route again. I definitely am thinking about gold money for my larger silver buys and see if I can get the odd small piece through to add to my stack.
Has anyone took a holiday in guernsey and visited the mint and bought some silver back. For those who declared you can answer here. PM me if you managed to get some through without declaring if you want to be discreet. Thinking of a week there this year.

Good idea if on holiday and take a partner or friends as well.
Not sure what the allowance is these days, around 400 per person - including children I think.
A family of 4 could legitimately bring back 1600 of silver still going through the green channel.
Check the limit though as I am guessing here.

I can recommend The Farmhouse Hotel if you want somewhere special to stay and walking distance from the Guernsey Mint

When I came back on the ferry a while ago I recall it saying goods to value of 370, might of gone up since then and whether that includes bullion of course is another matter.

    Rockin'

Check this site out, it might be a way of escaping the 20% VAT but pay a small comission 4%.
WYargent links buyers to sellers and sellers to buyers. If this works this might become the best way to get physical silver.

I have not tested this site out but it looks legit.

Well buys from 1oz through safely and no charges. Very good service have to say. With postage etc was 25 a coin so not cheapest, but cheaper than UK

Hello Gary, and the rest of you stackers. Can you tell me how long your delivery took, please? As I still haven't received mine after being shipped on the 29th of Dec. Thanks.

Thanks mate. Just the first thing I've ordered from them and was starting to worry a bit as I didn't opt for registered post to check how they fared. Thanks again.

Sadly spent my allowance this month. Just taken delivery from 1oz and should get some maples. I do like the buffalo round so may get some of those depending on price next month. Just had to email one of our bullion companies after they sent me an email telling me they were reducing sovereigns by 1%. So now will cost you 265 for 1, but if you buy 1000 you can have them for 255!!! Get real.... Atkinson's are doing 1 for just over 250.

AU trading- I always check this site once a week because sometime they do not always add the 20% vat to the amount. I have ordered 3 lots from them without trouble.

Do not get me wrong, I always worry with bank transfer. But DYODD.

    Hi Gary

The VAT - definitely sucks!!!! (there is no getting around it unless you buy it second hand and that person is within the 10K VAT scheme)

If you are looking to buy silver bullion - my lowest prices are 12% over spot. I amassed a large quantity of silver a year ago and I am happy to sell.

Regrettably - I don't sell coins or small priced bars - they are on mass and quantity only (as it's just not worth my time)

I used to sell on ebay until their fees were bleeding me dry, now i'm selling to existing customers from ebay and local individuals.

You can check out my adverts, ask any questions & make me an offer
