I have a mate in UK who sells Royal Mint stuff on eBay - he recently received a bunch of the above with lines across the face of the swimmer - wholesale costing about 2, retail about 2.99 each, 29 coins in the set with one free completer, all n/alloy. One customer sent him one back saying it wasn't as in the picture on eBay... So, with 20 of these in his pocket my buddy looks again - the RM made an error because owing to the lines across the swimmer's face it looked messy/odd - so they pulled the design & re-did the face of the swimmer - with no water lines across it... Upshot of all of this is that there are around 500-1000 50pences out there which are now worth... 200/$300 each mint & UNC... Good unpackaged examples are changing hands for 50/$75 amongst dealers too - so spread the word & keep yr eyes peeled for 'em...
