Hey guys, I was looking for gold on eBay (being cautious for fakes) and I came across a gold bar made by UBS, I did some research and apparently they are a Swedish based company, a big one according to the internet, so I did a search on eBay but barely anyone is selling it, I asked the seller if they came with a certificate if authentication and the seller said yes buy only offers item exchange no money refund, thoughts? Have you heard of UBS gold?

If in doubt, don't do it. eBay no longer a safe place to buy.

My advice for eBay - if you have to ask about it, avoid it. Buy what you know.

Pop into the Melbourne office one day and we'll show you the box of various fake bars that have been turned in by experienced forum members that bought them off eBay :/

Even with certificates of authentication, seller is also in Switzerland, that's where they're made, not to sure what to do.

If I do end up buying them, is there a place I can get them checked for authentication? Seller has sold over 50 bars, 100% feedback, will paypal refund if something goes wrong?

W Davis & Son in Melbourne have an XRF machine, and have previously offered a free testing service.

If they're not common here in Aus. you might have problems reselling them. Time and money wasted if you need to return an item o/s. Check out whats on offer here would make a lot more sense than buying O/S.

But it's your money so do what you thinks the best for you.

The reason I'm interested is because they're currently at a bargain price, won't be paying retail for it

Apparently these bars are one of the most exclusive (according to the Internet)

Crikeys we're selling 5g Perth Mint bars at ~$57 a gram - obviously not charging enough.
