Hey everyone! I currently have around 30oz's of silver bars. Would it be a good idea to trade half of them (15oz's) to gold since I don't have any gold? Much appreciated, Bryan.
Once you're in a position I'd stick with it unless you are trying to trade the GSR. Stack both. Unless you have very specific reasons, don't stack one to the exclusion of the other. The metals aren't homogeneous and will serve different purposes in different scenarios. Some people start with gold and then add silver. Many the oher way round.
I started with both gold and silver, now the only gold I have fits around my finger in the form of a ring
Long story short. Xmas bills to pay. Went into AEJ with 5 kilo Silver bar. Came out with many fiat $ notes and 1 oz of Gold. Went to bank with fiat $ & stashed 1 oz of Gold for future. Moral of story is : Silver is HEAVY & cheap compared to Gold. The 1 ounce Gold went into a small pocket & the 5 kilo Silver gave me a sore arm. And the fiat paid the Xmas crazy stuff. So, do not get sucked into consumerism...... Bow & arrow set. Glow in the dark yo yo. Happy to keep the hammock.....
Nah not at moment Imho, should stack both. If you are crying out for room ( for stacking silver then should stacking gold instead) Silver will takes more room compare to gold. Its all depend on how much you have I guest. For instance chipmunk collect nuts for the winter stash as much as he can but surely he will stash more smaller nuts rather than bigger nuts. Cos bigger( as volume) takes too much space. Takes this for example. I got to go collect more nuts cya.
Its not really about the space or anything, I just thought of maybe having some gold and not having too many eggs in a basket.
By all mean collect both then. If you can afford gold collect them too. Dont forget to leave some spare cash just in case. Chip already runout of room for silver. Too bulky. Time to collect gold. Blink blink. Ching chink.
We dont advice nor tell you what to do. Do at your own discretion. Everyone for themselves. If it go sour blame yourself. At least I will have silver to throw if it go sour.
Haha, no la. I don't blame people, I just wannna know opinions : So its not a big deal if I just stack silver right?
This a general speaking, no one in this forum are allow to give advices. We can give opinion thats about it. That is forum fact and faq. Sometimes we make bad decision and the one who lead get the blame? No, that is Why blame yourself. At the moment it is pointless to trade for gold unless you have tonnes of silver.
Smoky theres nothing wrong with trading however watch the gsr. That refers to gold silver ratio being how many oz of silver it takes to buy one oz of gold. Right now its between 53-54. Use that ratio to determine when to time your trade. Id say anything below 45 would be a good swap and with gold in the 1650s to 1700 that would be a silver price of 36-37 dollars however if bought at 30 and traded gsr at 45 your oz of gold would only end up costing you 1350. In the mean time continue buying silver and uf you have the money grab the od piece of fractional gold. Personally I wouldnt do any silver to gold trade if the gsr is over 50.
Gold and silver eggs, there is little difference between the nests. Rather focus on the markets and the prices instead of the metal. Which market appears to have most potential? Which market is most buy and hold over the long term, crisis or not? What are your plans with precious metals? My advice is to keep the silver coins and ignore gold. That's what I do, and I like alot people doing the same as me. It benefits my vested interest and I'm sure the nonproducing part of the population don't like ppl chosing silver above their gold. Err. My advice is worthless to you. Noone knows better what is best for you than you. If you like some gold, and don't have the fiat for it, only silver, go for it. Your preferences. Your decision. Your success or failure. And it's about at couple dozens ounces. Does it matter if it's gold or silver? You made a choice in the past. Why changing it now? If it makes you feel better, swap for gold. One thing can be added: often trades/swaps come with an intrinsic cost and are risks you take. The more you change mind, the more this counts.
If you only have 30 oz then it doesn't really matter. Your choice to continue stacking or play. I wouldn't trade if i were you. Save and buy more of either metal. Silver has greater % potential to rise based on recent prices.
