Somebody else is gonna have to make the next post cause if I hop on tomorrow and see I'm posting 3 in a row ima start to think I have a problem
Have no idea what this ugly duckling is, except for a barter trade with a local market jeweller, in exchange for 4 hours work, and $170 in materials. Plus a little running around

Last month I received 25 1-oz silver proof rounds from SD Bullion, the first series of the Heroes War Collection., which commemorates the D-Day landings. Specifically 1,557 Proof 1 oz Coins honor 1 of the 1,557 MIA Americans . Each one comes with an individualized C.O.A. in honour of each individual soldier. Unfortunately my photos do not do the coins justice. (I am new to this and using a $100 dollar digital camera, and have a lot of difficulty with the light reflecting off of the coins mirror-like finish (If I shoot too close, one sees the reflection of the camera on the coin surface...if I back up the resolution suffers...any suggestions appreciated ). I've displayed just 23 as I gifted one each to my brother and father and will likely gift a few more. Cheers, Luker
There is a topic around here on how to take pictures from such high reflective surfaces. I think it's done by placing lightsources at the sides and creating a kind of 'mini room' with lightly/white colored walls that diffuse the light ie reflect it in many directions, with in the middle of the room the thing to make a picture from. Light diffusion is the key to avoid reflections, it leaves the subject as sole reflector but since all incoming rays arrive under different angles, it will reflect them under those different angles too, and byebye reflection on picture. I btw plan to make such place / thing myself, I bought a big old/antique lamp-shade and a couple led umbrella lightings, being lights that consist of 3 groups leds, in a 120 degrees circular spread, tilted a slight angle to the outside. I placed two such on both sides of the place I have in mind to put the lamp-shade whenever I want to make pics. Just an idea, I'm totally noob in this too.
I just cut a hole in a piece of reflective black paper and stick it on to my cheap camera. A small area of the camera will show through the hole, but in this case that area is directly above the frosty ship, and thus no reflection is visible.
Here is another crappy pic using the above technique. Drunk girl with double vision as she sees herself in mirror.
First Canadian 10oz bars. i like them alot, will order a few more next buy and 4x1/10oz horses, last chance to get them cheap.
Unfortunately I am tapped...probably for the next two months or so I will have to sit on the sidelines/ride the pines....looking to stack some of these Scottsdale stackers once I'm back in the game ..like the idea and the design.... and I think a few of these kit-kat type 10 oz bars would be fun and a nice addition to my collection. Anyone have either of these? p.s. Last week I came across another type of "kit-kat" bar (think it was a 10oz) which had lettering/designs on several of the sides..anyone have any idea what I may have been looking at? (it wasn't one of Maggie's handpoured bars) Cheers, Luker [imgz=http://forums.silverstackers.com/uploads/13635_10879.jpg][/imgz] [imgz=http://forums.silverstackers.com/uploads/13635_10883.jpg][/imgz]
