Decided to buy some OMP, I know it's best to stick with graded slabs but couldn't resist. I hope they are all real bears.. 1x1992 - capsule only 1x1995 -OMP 9 leaf? 2x1997 - large date 1x1998 1/2oz 3x1998 - small date 2x2001 Next up I think I will go for NGC MS70 2007/8 or MS69 2000 Frosted. I've been thinking of selling some gold to fund my panda colony. I read all your advice guys
Nice coins STC, the 95 is a large twig large date but my NGC slab just says large twig. Just bought a MS70 08 panda myself, couldn't resist ...
Thanks FB, I have the pricepedia but need to get the books. Pandas are becoming a passion. Thanks musemellow! We should group buy & save on postage from USA etc?
Sure, why not, just give me a PM if you find any panda bargains on eBay, we can split the shipping cost
PFOAR! No wonder I keep hearing that the USA is the place to pickup BARGAIN Pandas! Is it likely that there will there be BARGAINS like these at Long Beach? I paid many times more (many many times more) for my 1989 Proof Panda!
Me too, and so the dilemma arises. Sell, hold, or gamble with grading? Looks top-notch, but I'd hate for it to come back a 68.
Do we know what criteria they use to grade these? It would be nice to be able to make an eyeball determination prior to sending them in...
You'll want to at least use a magnifying glass. Look for any nicks, scratches, scuffs, pits, or oxidation. Any of the above and I generally wouldn't send it in unless it is a rare coin, one that you want conserved, or one that you don't think you can sell without it being guaranteed genuine. I have many coins that I examined with a 15x scope, thought were flawless and still came back MS68. I have MS68s that look better than some MS69s. I have some that I eyeballed and they came back MS69. It's really all a gamble. But, if you look at graded coins, then compare, you can at least make an educated guess.
I have received the last of my OMP spend up, now to send off to NCS/NGC and see what I get. I hope along the way I get a few good results. Sorry for bad pic was just a quick shot. People are right they do multiply.
