I'm a little embarrassed to say I stole so many ideas from the forum but at least I cherry picked well. The little SS portfolio is up something like 8% over Thursday last week and up 6% full stop. I know it's nothing to get excited about and they are as likely to give up all 8% tomorrow but for today the forum had picked shares that have made 2 years interest in s little over 2 weeks. Have a look at my little SS sub section of my portfolio. Screen shot of my SS portfolio. Source: SS masters of the universe sub forum
Not congrats to me, this little subsection of my portfolio with the exception of FMG is all ideas that came from other people on the forum.
No, I just wanted to keep a few secrets. It would be a little embarrassing to let people know that im bragging about an 8% turn around in a portfolio so small that the 5 $20 trading fees ate it all.
I lost my nerve and sold everything except agi and cas. After fees I literally made dozens of dollars. SS index forever!
Way to go Phrenzy. Now wait for a bit....you could get two more entry points to put all the cash into the same stocks...one will be a quick sell and the other will be the hold. Or you could go buy a cappuccino and a nice slice of cake and sit in the sun to enjoy your winnings.
That's the idea, I may even get back in BDR or GRY if I see a good spot to jump in at. Your on the money with fees though if it's for a quick turn around, I'll pick one or two. With commsec each purchase is $20 and $30 for each sale. That's 5% on $1k just to break even. You live and learn, thanks to everyone on the sub forum for giving be the kick I needed to get involved. I know it's not all roses and clover but I've got the big now.
You had a good spot to jump in at!!! And you sold it You gotta learn gold's 'seasons' next entry sale point is about 1250USD on gold and an entry point will probably open up again in april-june Not guaranteed but fairly consistent I spent $14k for the short term before Christmas and looking for a good return as I sell in a couple of months
Spots up some $0.60 from where I got in. The board picks winners you just have to pick the timing yourself.
Now is the time you should have sold what % return would you have gotten assuming $500 + 39.90 (brokerage for the buy trade and the sell trade) for each? Anyone wanna do the math for me?
Tell me about it. Damn gold stocks. The only one I kept, Cas, isn't doing anything. I'm totally on the fence on agi. It's up something like 12% but I've heard opinions it's got another 40c left a share in its near term gains. I feel a little like I'm tempting fate given how shaky things seem to be. Overall it's been pretty successful though. If I sold AGI tomorrow at today's closing price I'd have averaged about 9% return over a month, give it take. Annualized that's roughly 30 times bank interest.
