Are my biscuits at risk from this Faraday fellow? I have a full packet of Tim Tams on ice (you know, from before lotus stuffed the recipe).
You might want to rethink that bet. Here are some up coming dvd releases from Warner Bros. November 13 is as far out as this site currently goes. http://www.dvdempire.com/Exec/v4_pr.../2012&swit=3&site_id=4&site_media_id=0&sort=2
Back in 1993 they called this the thin client. Every smart person knew that this was where it was going. Today they call this The Cloud. Of course every smart person knows this is where it is going. It's a bit like Linux on the desktop, any moment now
Spannermonkey my point was that Warner Bros is still releasing dvds. Is person who told you Warner Bros had stopped releasing dvds, the same person who told you no dvds after 2013. For reasons of security, I think many people will resist the cloud. Anyone who has private data is putting it at risk on the cloud. And anyone who doesn't trust the government should not put their information on the cloud. Dvds will be here for a long time too. I now give clients dvd copies of their tax returns. Most those clients are still not comfortable having their taxes sent to them through the internet.
They are releasing things at the moment yes , yes the same person told me that the dvd is dead. Memory sticks instead of cd/dvd .
spannermonkey the memory sticks have two disadvantages compared to dvds. 1. Cost - here in the US, memory sticks costs $s more than dvds. 2. Reliability - Memory sticks have a history of being unreliable. From personal experience, I back up my tax information to 3 new memory sticks (3 different brands). Within a few months 2 of the sticks had gone bad. That was with them not being used or moved during those months.
At least now I know there is one other person out there that feels my pain re: cloud sh#t Nice to make your acquaintance.
I'll bump this thread up for you Spanner - you can pay the 2 oz's now whilst spot is low or you can pay me at the end of the year when spot is over $100.
Technically there is still three months to go yet, but I would pay up now while prices are low spanner....
The price of silver hasn't got any better but I think it's a long shot for DVDs/CDs to die in less than two months.
we are at 3 dec and DVDs / CDs are still being released by the bucketloads... is it too late to take the bet?
Look at all the scheduled release dates on or after January 2nd. Are you planning for the world to end or silver to drop even more and reduce your losses? http://www.dvdempire.com/preorder-m...release_date:[NOW/DAY+0DAYS+TO+NOW/DAY+7DAYS]
