Sorry for the noob question, but today I saw a 100oz bar of generic .999 silver selling for roughly the same price as a 10oz NTR minted bar. Now I know there is a premium on minted goods over cast, but 10 times the weight for what is essentially the same product?? I must be missing something here, anyone care to enlighten me? Cheers PD Oh and I just pulled the trigger on my first purchase, 10oz PM gold and 20oz PM silver
Stay away from such deals. and forget about a 'slip up' in the market where BOTH the seller as well as other buyers somehow didnt see such a good deal for a low price. and yeah, welcome to the forum
Assuming the price we're talking about here is in the region of AUD$430 - if you saw a 100oz bar for that price, it means the bullion value of each ounce is AUD$4.30 per ounce. Obviously an impossible price, therefore, one would suspect the inside of the bar is lead or housebricks? ;-)
Well the thing is, its actually on one of the site sponsors. I can post a link if it's allowed. Just checked and it's still up. Pic here:
Indeed mystery solved Puddleduck? Scroll to the top of the page you showed, and there's a link (picture) "Single items at bulk prices". Click on that, and you'll find the NTR bars at $423.52 (at the time of writing). That's 10oz of .999 fine silver, and a nice buy IMO.
