I am a totally new Sydney based stacker and so far have managed more by luck than skill! Rightly or wrongly I've decided on Perth Mint bullion coins (not Lunar) on the basis that for the difference in cost between bar and coin the fact the coin is dated it just may be more sellable at some time in the future. Loking round I've found it seems that Jaggards and ABC Bullion are about the best although for reasons which remain a mystery ABC seems generally about $1 less for silver and up to $10 more for gold. Both though leave me a bit wondering about the 'premium' and being over 'spot' (new words for me in this context!) seeming a bit rich and struggling with the falling Aussie dollar.

Just interested in any words of wisdom from the more experienced. I have been a bit surprised at the complexity of the whole thing and that it can seem a bit daunting to a new stacker.

    Welcome!

Can't guarantee that any of the words will be ones of wisdom but you will get plenty of opinion here.

Perth Mint is nice enough, I have quite a few in my collection. The Lunars are worth a second look though, particularly in the different sizes.

Welcome! Seems like the name Peter is pretty popular here in Sydney amongst stackers.

    Welcome :)

I've found KJC to be more expensive. Never really bought much from Syd dealers as do most of my trades through interStacker relationships and Perthbullion (can still be cheaper even after factoring in postage).

    Hello and Welcome PeterS,

The only word of wisdom that I will offer is for you to try and make it to the West Ryde Sunday 28th December meet

I am newish to stacking and by attending the monthly meetings it allows you to not only meet some of the local larrikins but also lets you tap into a large pool of knowledge

And in case you were wondering yes SilverPete is a spitting image of his avatar, it must be a side effect of hauling all those stacks of 1Kg Coins around

Hi to all, just started to be a silver stacker. Open to any tips or helpful information about stacking. Ps long time collector of 50 cents a passion that started as a paperboy back in the 80s. Thanks Martin

Is there any Sydney shops with a closer spread like gold stackers in melbourne?
ABC seems to push you towards there brand and penalise the others in a critical way.
Extreme case: pamp. Sell. Buy back.
    PAMP 10g Minted $26.40 $6.03
