Since last week, I have this problem. When submitting a post. Long wait, then unable to connect.
But the post is created, only that my browser doesn't seem to be informed.
Just had it again, submit post, checked immediately after submit button press along another browser tab, and I saw my new post there. But the tab where I pressed the submit, still waiting.

If it's a longer post, I always copy my text to my 'clipboard' before hitting "submit". Sometimes in the time it takes for me to type, the session logs me off in the background.

whenever I write some nonsense it goes through ... whenever I like to post something smart it never touches down ...

P.S. you see, looks like I've just written nonsense )))

Short or long, it doesn't make a difference, it creates the new post, it appears, only that my browser doesnt receive any confirmation header before the timeout (30 or 40 sec?)
And the post is created after only a few seconds, which I see by refreshing, sending a confirmation response later would imply that the server software would swap queued items to a user, meaning that they get out of order, which is nearly impossible.

Firefox, but until before 1 week, unchanged browser/settings, I didnt experience this.
    Which indicates another reason.
It's not that 'huge' problem, only that I have to take care to not retry submitting, since I then double post.

I tried removing cookies/history, it had no effect on the unable too connect / server takes too long to respond. I also didnt expect it to have effect, because Live HTTP headers plugin for Firefox shows me that the browser sends the request headers, but that the response headers don't arrive.
Like I said, it's like the server reply either isn't send either doesn't get through me, blocked by something (and it's also not my firewall, since disabling and even unloading it, doesn't make the problem go).
I saw this problem before, on a specific other forum (Kitco), but on other such places I never had it. The problem comes, stays for weeks then goes. I'm a couple years here, and never saw it so far (common internet 'random' yes, but then my submitted post isn't created, while here it is created, yet my browser times out with those errors while in another browser tab I can immediately see my submitted post did arrive / was created by the forum software.
It's... weird. If it was server overload, I would assume that my post just doesn't get created at all.
