Thank you gents. Well I can't get a more up-to-date appraisal than that. Obviously it's only worth what someone might pay, but was it good buying at that price? Gold was around the $2200 mark at the time from memory.
I could be wrong as my memory is a bit shaky! I think they were Bullion dealers in Sydney who went bust in the 1980s. I think people who entrusted their gold with Bargold lost all or some of it. They were in business pre-internet so I can't find anything about them online.

I think as a collectors piece, it was a good buy for that price, as not many around. I was bidding in that Nobles auction and tried to research it. I think Bar Gold were Bullion dealers in Sydney who went ceased trading in the 80s, not much info around. I was thinking if it was a one off, prototype design, etc as it didn't show the PM logo, so I doubt they had permission. Was from the D.G.L.Worland Collection, now in Shlomo vault I take it
