Anyone used the Reserve Vault in Brisbane to hold PM's?

Not me, however as soon as my super goes 100% self managed, I'll be looking to get some storage there.

Prices I received in Oct 2010 (apparently just before an imminent price rise) where:

    Safety Deposit Boxes:
Type 1 $195.50 per year plus GST
Type 2 $215.05 per year plus GST
Type 3 $333.50 per year plus GST

This is an all inclusive cost and includes your enrolment, administration & all standard access fees for the year.
The only other cost is a fully refundable key deposit of $200.00

The sizes/types are on their website.

Thanks rbaggio for the prices. The safety deposit boxes seem pretty small really, and if you had 100kg of silver, you wouldn't want to have a storage box at shoulder height or above. How much could you fit into a box that is 125mm x 125mm x 600mm, that's the type 3 style, at $360/year.

never mind the prices, how did you get that time machine? :p

Joking aside, I don't think thats too steep, back home in sunny Manchester your looking at 300+ GBP for a similar sized box, and you have to dress up in shirt and tie whenever you want to access it... If I've got a box, I want to be able to go access it in my scruffs if I feel like it :p

Storing silver is always a problem cost wise. as for your question, 0.125*0.125*0.6*19300=180.94 or 181kg if the gold was cast in it. :) also I think you made an error and their trays are only 60mm not 600 so for that price its only 18.1kg

600mm deep is fairly standard. Guardian Vaults have a 60kg weight limit on boxes regardless of size.

rbaggio did those prices include insurance? And if so what would the insurance cover?

Just rang the reserve vault in brissie for current prices, prices are up-front.
Start up fee (for a key etc): $200
    Type 1: $225/year can fit 15 x 1kg Ag bar
    Type 2: $265/year can fit 20 x 1kg Ag bar
    Type 3: $385/year can fit 25 x 1kg Ag bar
    Type 4: $520/year
    Type 5: $650/year

They also have large safes with a set up fee of $750 and a cost of $1385/year which can take a fair bit of silver.

There is a maximum of 30kg permitted in each storage box. This is because any heavier might be dangerous to your health when you carry it. You need to provide your own insurance.

I'm thinking now Perth Mint unallocated (or pooled or whatever it's called now) might be the way to go for the majority of my stash and maybe have a type 2 box with physical in it, say 15kg of silver and some Au in it. Or maybe store it in PM allocated, depending on the fees might be the way to go, don't know if their fees include include insurance, will have to ring them when everyone around me STOPS MAKING SO MUCH NOISE CLEANING THE HOUSE!!!!

Or just go all pooled and have no physical, god I'm confused. :(
