Who's the best company to store a 1/4 shoebox size of silver coins?

Tried BRINKS but they say they dont do storage.

I dont want to have bullion at my place or at the banks/mint either.
    :/

That amount? Well hidden at home and keep quiet.

Otherwise a facility like Guardian Vaults in Melbourne or The Reserve Vault in Brisbane might have small boxes in the ~$200 range per annum... but if you think of it that way, it's 5-6oz of silver a year to pay for storage.

Some dealers offer allocated storage if you're a customer of theirs, and some do allow you to bring your own metal in for storage if you've previously purchased from them.

Too expensive mate. If you're worried about hiding it, sell it here and buy some gold, much easier to hide. For prices at the reserve vault in brisbane see:

I can vouch for the gold being easier to hide. And also easier to forget where you hid it. Like what happened to me a couple of weeks ago.

After ransacking my flat I ended up finding it again. Luckily  Thought what a waste of $1500 but rechecked my search and it ended up being in one of the first places I looked.

I have mine in a container amongst a lot of similar containers with various things in them. (nails, screws, washers, etc) Hoping not to get any mad D.I.Y. burglars. ;)

Hi, just bought my first bar, I was intending on taking out a small deposit box at CBA (the big branch) which has 10,000+ boxes and never has had a theft in 80 years since it was opened.

    do others use safety boxes?

overall I was going to put around 10 silver 1kg bars there and 5x1oz gold coins. .

If you're storing at home, grab some replica bars off ebay (~$3 ?) and leave them with some cash in an obvious hiding spot (e.g. under your bed).

Then again, maybe I am just paranoid.

    Welcome aboard!

Personally I avoid Bank Safety Deposit boxes and prefer Private Vaults...yep unlikely to be stolen from a Bank Robber but likely from the Banksters themselves...

Where are you? In the BrisVegas there is The Reserve Vault - theres another thread somewhere which lists many similar storage places around the country...

Yep - no thief is going to be interested in looking in a 6 foot tall book...almost blends in perfectly to the room...:)

Sydney. i checked for a vault here and can't find any. if anyone knows of anything.

In terms of the banksters taking stuff from boxes, has it ever happened? i mean things would be pretty bad.

Not that I know of...perhaps too much tin foil dissolving into my head

Another reason where private is better than a Bank is accessibility...During 9/11 all banks closed so you couldn't get access to a safe deposit box...all private storage places I know of allow 24/7/365 access - expect to pay extra to get someone there xmas morning but its possible...

Mike Maloney's book had a section about storage which made a lot of sense to me - just followed it and ended up private...

    Just my 2 three pence...

Maybe it's me. However, the inclination of storing AG/AU in a common self storage facility just does not appeal.
