Think back over everyone that knew and go from there. If nothing else taken then you know it isn't random theft. I can only imagine how heartbreaking this is for you. I know there is many people thinking of you. Regards Maggie
Ouch! Sorry to hear of the loss aussilver. Where you at in Perth? North or South of the river? I will certainly keep me eyes/ears open for ya. Hope you get it all back.
With the sort of support and knowledge of people on here ( many dealers and people from perth mint etc etc) I guess there is a fair chance we may find the culprit through an 'oppsie daisy' screw up by the thief when they go to sell some of the more unique pieces.
Shame. They got quite a bit. Hopefully the thieves don't get precious metals fever, because then they might look for more. Don't want to scare anyone, but in case some of you guys had not thought of this possibility, here's a thought:- if they do get "fever", then the logical course of action would be to Google a few of these items, and then they might come across this exact SS entry detailing the loss. Their next logical step would be to systematically determine whether or not they can figure out where some other WA silverstackers live, and then proceed to rob them too. So be on your guard WA guys & girls, because in a couple of instances, there are clues here on SS that could be followed in order to determine physical addresses. You'll be a lot stronger for this aussilver. Good & bad come out of all things.
I'll keep the best look out on uk eBay just in case they try selling from elsewhere as is common (other side of the world is deffinately elsewhere), sorry to hear about that. As mentioned above, deffinately try go through the people who knew that you know (don't know how common it is there but here and in the U.S alot of theft of stuff like that is family/"friends".
Just curious as to how they broke into your safe? This definitely makes me want to buy a big safe for added security
As i put in other thread they used my rotary hammer drill and a sledge hammer from my garage,It seems like a random break in and just got lucky as they had no tools etc.Id say they were on foot as they took 2x backpacks and could have taken a lot more stuff if not.North of River Hillarys area.I am going to spread the list as far as i can tomorrow. As far as anyone knowing my best mates dont even know what was here.
I purely just wouldn't use a safe, just hollowed out furniture and crevices around the house and in the most innocent items such as sealed in wax candles.
Quick question, are all thecoins/bars "loose" in plastic bags or are they in mint presentation boxes, capsules etc...
Okies will keepmy eye out, btw might be wirth ringing local dealers to see if they would keep an eye out for stashs of items trying to be sold like parts of your collection. They may be able to get details of the sellers for a police enquiry?
Maybe this is in another thread but how about sending that list to all the Cash converters etc... pawn shops. They have to get rid of it and chances are they have no idea what it really all is worth. At least if someone pops in witha few coins they can be a bit more alert.
Keep an eye on Ebay. Inform Bullion and Second-Hand Dealers around the Nation. Just put a word in Cash Converters (re: second hand chain). Cost of phone call to contact 20 different dealers is well n truly worth it. Normally, shyt gets stolen from people that know you. Whether directly or indirectly. Loose lips sink ships too. I doubt it was a 'random' crime. Random crimes are normally around druggie opportunistic areas.
