    I was pleasantly surprised when Allianz kindly added 20k worth of PM insurance to one of our policies, for no added premium cost.
    Why, ...... to deal with some SMSF requirement, inflicted upon us.
    Anyway, the updated edited clause was inserted in, really easy !

    Having written that though, we have a substantial relationship with this insurer.
    Thing is though, they think that they know where it is !

    Good for you but I think that is not a typical example at all. I have a feeling that if I called most insurance companies in this area here, they'd want an appraisal of a coin collection (worth over a certain value) before they insure. If you only stack generic blobs, then this may be a different situation.....but I'm referring to a coin collection....not a stack of plain metal doorstops that just happen to be made of silver.

    Most home and contents Policies have a sub-limit for collections/bullion/coins, do you care to explain "substantial relationship" I'm intrigued.
