The biggest (apparently) philosophy channel on the youtubes discussing the arguments of those who are anti bitcoin http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j_sj6XGMVaw 1. It isn't backed by anything. He agrees but says this negative is also one of its biggest positives because less is spent in producing it, makes storage cheaper and transactions are almost free. 2. It can be stolen. So can anything else. (I personally think the whole bitcoin is easy to steal is purely a product of people not knowing much about it. It is easy to steal my wallet if I leave it on the table at a restaurant when I go to the toilet, so I don't do this) 3. If the electricity grid goes down bitcoin is worthless. He says if this were to happen most people would die so its a pointless argument to have. Ps, he mentions there is apparently a university in Cyprus that accepts BTC as payment of student fees.
The University of Nicosia in Cyprus is now accepting Bitcoin for payment of tuition and other fees. They also plan to offer a Master's of Science Degree in Digital Currency, starting in 2014. Source: http://world.time.com/2013/11/21/university-in-cyprus-becomes-first-to-accept-bitcoin-payments/
