    Considering the nature of this website I'm surprised SSL hasn't been implemented and isn't redirected to by default.

    So when is this going to be done?

    It seemed odd to me too.

    It would potentially be of use for private messaging - but would give a false sense of security.

    Not only is it useful in preventing people from intercepting your private messages but it also prevents people from connecting user names to locations/IP addresses and it prevents TOR from leaking information.
