I signed up for Spotmex thru a link at SS. I have been perusing the different areas, figuring out how it all worked. I set my filters to those who would ship to USA and take certain forms of payments. I either have the concept down wrong..or just don't understand. I found two Morgans for 35.00 USD a piece, quantity 2 on the sellers side column. So I put in my order for the exact amount and quantity. A screen popped up, said I had bought them and asked me to pay now. I hit pay now and (went thru paypal this time) and paid for immedieatly. I received my confirmation email of total amt plus shipping that was taken out of paypal. I thought,...done deal. Six hours later I receive this ....I will block out names in case I am misunderstanding the way this was supposed to work in my mind so no seller gets a bad rap at this point......

    Note from merchant
I am sorry I sold already

    Original transaction details
    Description Amount
    SPOTMEX Order #1392
    Item #: 1392
    $73.00 USD 1 $73.00 USD

    Shipping and handling: $2.12 USD

    Total: $75.12 USD

As soon I bought them, they disappeared from the sellers side column..so I find it hard to believe that two people hit the buy now button at the same exact time and paid at the same exact time.
Has anyone else bought of spotmex yet? I know they are a sponsor here so I really wanted to give them a try..but am very disappointed about the whole transaction..especially after going thru the whole process of setting my "buyers" acct up...

Erm, sounds more like the person sold it off the site, not much you can do about that sort of thing.

If Spotmex has a complaint system, you could file a complaint. It is possible that the seller sold the coins outside of Spotmex and did not update his Spotmex listing. Since you got a quick refund, I would assume that the seller just made an innocent mistake.

If that is the case the seller should be banned!
That's not how it works, at least not how it should work. if you sell it you should remove it immediately...

I'd give the seller the benefit of the doubt and say they made a genuine mistake in not removing the listing after selling the coins elsewhere.

On the other hand, if you were buying through eBay you'd be entitled to give the seller neutral or negative feedback so the likelihood of mistakes occurring (genuine or otherwise) would be much lower.

The seller owes you $5.00 for his un-professionality

Then there is the opportunity cost to consider.

I think I saw an option to allow F2F on SPOTMEX, not too sure how the whole system works though.

Guys, I have to stick up for Spotmex.
I sold lots of stuff there. No hassles, no problems.
I actually forgot I got stuff for sale over there so I didn't adjust the prices when spot rose.
But it is my own fault.
