The third piece of rough is UGLY (obviously I'm being facetious). If you'd like, I would be prepared to take it off your hands if the price is right. Please pm me if it is for sale otherwise I'll assume it is not. Lovely pieces of rough, all of them!
Thanks for the interest everyone. Lucky luke I will get some weights on those, yes everything is for sale for the right price. I will post some more stuff , is there any gem types (rough or cut) anyone would like to see? I can check what I have Surprised no comments about how bad the pictures are....
Common to see brilliant photo's of poor gems but not so common to see poor photos of brilliant gems. PM please about the tourmaline bi-colour rough if available.
This Aquamarine is 17.93 ct. a really nice stone almost flawless. The Large green oval Tourmaline is 7.59 ct. very rare in this quality and color. the Bi colored Tourmaline (pink/teal) is actually a long emerald cut stone not rough (hard to tell in the pics) it is 4.87ct. I also have another smaller one of this same material that is just the teal color.I have alot of these teal color stones many look just like the Paraiba stuff but they are from Afganistan/Pakistan I have never tested to see if they contain copper but they are sweet material and I have sold every piece of jewelry I have made out of it ,it always seems to attract more attention than any other stones I work with. It is always more expensive every time I try to buy it , Usually people only want to sell large parcels at 100k+ and some of these Pashtun Miners and dealers are brutal to deal with you have to have a very strong will and they respect that. I will try to post a few more.
Absolutely beautiful both in terms of stone quality, colour, cutting and SIZE. This certainly wouldn't be a "small change" purchase!! and your photography is improving!
Yes most crystals are six sided a law of nature I guess , Tourmaline is a little more vague on where the sides actually begin and end but the top terminations are 6 sided , not sure what you are asking about the color and composition but I would be happy to answer any more questions if I can.
Here is another Aquamarine , not the most beautiful Specimen (some might say ugly) LOL. But it is unique in that is is an en-hydro meaning it has water inside a moving water bubble , not extremely rare in Aquamarine but not very common either . I wish i could get a good picture of the water. I used to dig quarts crystals with water in them and always wondered what it would be like to drink it or maybe test it and see what million++ year old water had in it. Also Thought of trying to facet a stone around the water bubble and set it in jewelry,it would be a nice conversation piece. I also saw years ago a very large probably 200+ ct Tanzanite rough crystal with a large water bubble and totally sweet color I think it was about $30K which seemed like alot them but I bet it is worth much more now to the right collector.I also saw a picture in a book with a quartz en-hydro crystal that had gold dust in the water, i bet that one is pretty rare . Anyone else have unique en-hydro crystals or in to these? Source:
