    i went through the same dilemma about the premium for the 2013.
    i got it anyway.
    believe me, it is stunning and worth every bit.
    it's a beautiful display piece

    Hi All.

    This one looks good but IMO not nearly as pleasing as the 2013 elephant.

    I will be getting 5 or so bullion coins and maybe a proof if i like the bullion enough.

    The 2013 really is awesome.

    Series started around 2004 I believe, mintages were very small in early years but now minted to demand. I've heard something like 1 million of the 2013s were minted.

    As far as I khow they are minted in Germany and actually have nothing to do with Somalia apart from the name being on the coin! Can't wait to add another to the collection.
