May I just say, Brian shows a complete disregard for those sexy red ear defenders (Just trying to distract everyones attention for a moment while I start planning my bulk buy)
i believe if you cough up the capital for a mintage they will custom make 1/4 oz gold rounds for you, looking at about 250-300,000 USD, otherwise there are no plans to crank any more out. I'm guess that'll give you about 600 ish quarter oz rounds that you can sell for whatever price you wish. Group buy anyone?
yup, hundreds of thousands. that's the amount necessary for them to bother. We're talking gold, that's only 160 odd ounces.
250,000 / 1550 (gold spot) is roughly 160 oz. is roughly 600 1/4 oz coins if you allow them a manufacturing premium. give or take.
I really like the Royal Silver product. They really are a nice round. I wish the premiums were competitive to other generic rounds. They would sell a whole lot of rounds if they were. Why would anyone buy a silver Koala if you could get one of these for the same price? At $48 an ounce though they cant be a core of my stack
then you got 10,000 vs "unlimited" mintage, proof-like finish vs bullion, environmental issues, % going to endangered animal fund, plus proven aftermarket premiums. Look at Fishball's carded koala saga by comparison...
Yeh I know BlockHead, based on the environmental and endangered animal fund alone would be enough for me to make them the core part of my stack if it was economical to do so. One thing that did annoy me though was all the crap about destroying dies after the "limited" mintage only for them to turn around and start a 2011 Andean cat which appart from the year change on the reverse side completely circumvented the "mintage Limit" in the first place. If they had stuck to the mintage limit in the 2010 Cat then released the 2011 Macaw you could justify the premiums.
Block, have Royal Silver made any claims that they will not continue the Macaw next year? or after the "mintage limit" is done?
i would not have a clue, it's just a youtube video i found, and i emailed Brian last year sometime about if they were gonna make any more gold rounds. Beyond that i know nothing
maybe getting 1 or 2 but expensive, just might as well get more maples or eagles for that price , we can get almost 2 more oz for that kind of $$$....not for me...
Bastard Koalas are underappreciated. Mark my words, in the year 2015 they will be the hottest thing on the planet!!! Also, the mintage on those carded Koalas is more like 5,000 not unlimited, they just don't release the mintage till 2012 though but going from the previous years 5,000 sounds about right.
The marketing person for this company is going to have a constant battle with videos like this being produced. Still fulfilling back orders for cats? will have stock built up by end of June, now 10th July & not even a mention on Royal silvers own web site. producing gifts for royalty. Maybe the peoples who's money you already have would prefer effort being spent on filling prior orders first. looks like while some business lessons might have been learn t for which Brian was cut much slack first time round, others certainly continue to evade this business.
