Good starting point for anyone wanting to learn about investing Bitcoin into their SMSF.

To me it sounds like as long as the SMSFs Trust Deed & Investment Strategy allows for the investment into Bitcoin, it's okay in principle. However the author makes reservations that many Auditors may not be versed yet into how to audit the 'Blockchain'. They would need to learn how to see when the SMSF came into control of the assets & correlate valuations at time of transactions. All quite easy stuff via the many free web based blockchain viewers on the internet. Also the blockchain technology is basically a triple entry ledger perfect for bookkeeping, via Bitcoin's built in messaging function. These messages could also be easily encrypted by the SMSF for any privacy needs.
