Afternoon all, Thought I'd ask opinions. I've got the full set of the S1 1oz lunars in a display case (which looks awesome I must admit). The problem is that there's a mark on one of the coins on the Queens cheekbone. Personally not fussed as I wanted the set to sit in a case so the reverse would never be visible. If I look at selling this in the future, would I be best off replacing the offending coin so that the collection is pretty much perfect, or would selling it with a small discount still tempt buyers? Cheers!
I'm sure most would prefer a mint set Having said that a small discount would be fine with me if I was looking to buy, the damage is on the ugly side afterall.
I'd replace it with an unblemished one and sell the marked one seperately and discount that. Rather take a few dollars off the one coin than a bit more off a set. malachii
+1 Sell the damaged one, use the money to buy a minty fresh one. Easier to sell it later. If there are so many fakes in the future that you need to slab everything in order to sell it this will work out even better.
