Similar to previous launch events for the Dragon and Snake, the Perth Mint has graciously extended an invitation to the members of the Silver Stackers forum to attend the launch of the 2014 Year of the Horse Lunar coins at the Perth Mint in Western Australia in September, on Monday, 2nd September 2013 at 8am.

At the event, Ron Currie, Perth Mint Sales and Marketing Director will give an overview of the 2014 bullion coin series and guests will view an audio visual presentation of the latest designs. Following, guests will be permitted to purchase the range from The Perth Mint Shop prior to the retail store opening to the public at 9am.

Also similar to last year, The Perth Mint will impose product purchasing limits on the popular sizes from our Australian Lunar Gold and Silver Coin Series. Limits will be advised closer to the time.

Due to security requirements, the number of guests for this event will be strictly limited, and all persons wishing to attend will need to provide their FULL NAME in order to be added to the door list for early admission into the mint at 8am - this is strictly enforced, if you're not on the list, you will not be admitted.

I've been getting requests from a number of people for a few months to advise if such an event is occurring this year - and there is a lot of interest from interstate members to attend, so in order for a chance for people to find out about this event in time, registrations will not be accepted until 10am Perth time / 12pm Melbourne time, this Friday 12th July. Separate registration threads will be opened at this time for local and interstate members to register their attendance (so don't book flights just yet!). There has been an increase in the number of spaces available from 50 to 60, as the launch will be held in a different area of the mint to years past.

Please do not buzz on this thread, PM me or contact the mint direct to try and secure attendance - the forum has been asked to coordinate the guest list, and it will be done via the threads to be opened tomorrow.

So get ready for the Year of the Horse, registrations will open tomorrow!

I have just had confirmation from The Perth Mint that the purchase limits on the day are as follows:

    20 x 1oz silver
    5 x 1oz gold

So it will be possible to purchase a full unbroken roll of 1oz silver Horses at the launch.

Lunar launch sales are conducted at the normal bullion counter. I would assume that Kookaburras will be available.
