These are so pretty and so expensive. They are about $1,440. My Question is, WHAT is the Best Year to Get? Do you know the differences from year to year, if there are any? They had a 2009, 2010, 2011, 2013 and 2014. The 09 and earlier years were slightly more expensive. it's hard because you can buy 2 Kilos and still have a few dollars left in your pocket, or you can buy this ONE. But, it is a beauty and it is presented extremely well! Great Display Piece.
Depends on what you want to spend and if you intend on selling it for a profit. They were first minted in 2007 and have sold out every year. Lowest mintage ones are usually the best ones to get as they'd be expected to rise in value more than the others but you'd also be paying a premium for those so all relative. There's no physical differences in the coins for different years so personally I'd stick with the cheapest one you can lay your hands on. That or a kilo Libertad if you want something striking but cheaper. Kilo Aztec Mintages 2007- 300 2008- 1,000 2209- 1,500 2011- 1,500 2012- 1,500 2013- 400 (have also seen 500)
I have not seen a 2014 Aztec kilo; I believe the final year of mintage is 2013. Can you confirm this House? 2014 will see the minting of a kilo Libertad (they may be produced already in fact)....I haven't been keeping close tabs on this recently. I do know that the 2013 kilo Libertad is the lowest mintage for all kilo Libertads. If anyone wants to add a kilo Libertad to their collection, 2013 is the key year to get. As for value, spot silver could drop to below $14/oz....no one knows where the bottom of silver is in this very troubling times for silver and gold. No one knows how low the spot price will be in 5 or 15 years....could be much worse than today (inflation adjusted). So, while you would get less than spot selling your kilo blobs to the dealer, there's a very good chance that with a low mintage Aztec or Libertad 15 years down the road, you might collect a handsome premium for that Aztec or Libertad selling to a collector. .
She's a beaut alright It's the Aztec Calendar Winged Victory 1oz silver proof medal minted by the Casa de Moneda. About $100 incl postage to Aus from Meh-he-co. Got it on eBay, never seen them below $89
This is one of my favourites rounds - looks like gold here ( alas not) Also like this new Heidi Wastweet round This one not so much pretty as awesome
that truth is my light round appears as a thumbsup to me. I'll buy some, if I ever have the chance, and spot isn't driven up too much.
love this coin, I had to get one thanks for discovering it now on it's way to my Mexican coin collection, can't wait to see it in person
Actually Blanca discovered it, after we were discussing my avatar. It is my favourite though. http://forums.silverstackers.com/topic-39549-today-i-bought-page-3.html
