So I have 10 of these critters that might need to be sold soonish, and need to gauge a price.

Just on some basic searches on Ebay, it seems that they are fetching 70ish quite easily, which doesn't quite match up with what they go for here.

Even though I would prefer to trade through the forums, it seems that even with the fees I would be better off putting them on Ebay.

Has anyone sold any of these recently and if so what are they going for in the real world?

If you're desperate however, I would make a [del]lowball[/del] generous offer of $500 for the lot :)

Yeah I saw the thread where they were $55 today...

to me there is no point selling them here for that when there seems to be an appetite for them on Ebay... asmuch as I hate using that site :/

Last ones I can see on eBay are $55.50 and $57.00 (plus postage)

Where did you get the $70+ from? The overseas ones?

The wholesale price is $55 each.
If I bought a roll to resell I would be gouging you guys $60 each :p
Would sit too long on the shelves if I asked more.

for every one you sell on ebay will pay at least 7-8% of the total transaction charge in fees, so if you fetch $600 for the 10, add $17 postage =$617
your ebay fees would be $43 suddenly you have sold them for $56 each. then if paypal gets involved you can say goodbye to another 2.4%, so you can see the economics of selling on here and also you help out a fellow stacker :)

I saw them going $70 on feebay but that price has only been for about 4 or 5 coins. If you suddenly dumped like 50 on feebay all at once you'd probably suppress prices.

I usually assume 10% in total fees off the sale price for ebay and PayPal.

I am all for selling to a fellow stacker, but if wholesale for steve is 55 selling them here for that isnt just being nice, its bordering on a gift.

I will have to do my sums on an ebay listing when I get home.

+ youll need to go registered to avoid losing everything... thats what? $14 + $1 for the bubble --- $15 registered postage should see that $70 you were hoping for a pipe-dream.

Not sending via regsitered OS is to open yourself up to a whole lotta hurt.

But i agree with original poster that $55 is far to cheap.. i saw $65 today on the (fee)bay with 4 days to go (us$), and how can an Ox sell for $65 if a Tiger is just $55?.. somethings not right there ... having said that those non-coloured Ox's are mad-rare.. wonder if perth-mint will re-release those also to destroy the secondary market like they did the lunar Mice.. (thanks for that.. i wanted to buy mice around 2 years later for cheaper than i originally paid).. I do have the info on if these reached the 300k limited first time round (laugh/cry)

I was never expecting $70 in my hand anyway, just a fair price.

Yeah I wont part with then for that much :)

I need money for a 2month trip, but not that badly.

I love Silver Stackers, but tbh its not always the place to get the best price.

Anyway, did some quick sums.... ebay final value fee is 7.9%, postage for $29.75 for registered post+ sig on delivery to the USA for 10oz's.

So lets say $680 (free postage) on 10 coins gives me 53.72+29.75= $83.47.... Then the paypal conversion rip offs etc etc

so really to get close to $60 a coin (which imo is more fair) it needs to be closer to $690 for 10, which is plausible but a bit iffy, even on Ebay.

Offer up 10 for 600 plus postage (which you can do for 6.50 flat rate satchel). You might get a taker. I'd say that's about right.

Yeah the cheapest you could send 1 coin domestically in Australia would be $4.20 - - - > being $1.20 for the large envelope rate and then $3.00 to register it. But usually you charge a postage price around $7.00 or so on feebay just to milk it a bit more !

Is there any interest at paying $950 for a 1/2kg lunar tiger coin here? Rare as hen's teeth but a bit pricey.
Exactly the same size as the 1kg coin but half the thickness. I can source one from my suppliers if anyone is interested

Prepaid Registered envelopes are $3.10 if you buy them in lots of 10. They can take up to 250g and 5mm thick, I have sent up to 4 1 oz coins in one of these many times

    cheers
