    Hello Stackers

Tried to sell a lunar goat on here for $1700 and no takers. So, listed it on gumtree, complete with the same photos (on a sigma).
    This is what I received.....

BTW I would never accept PayPal for a face to face pickup unless the buyer allowed me to photograph them with the goods. A classic scam is to buy on Ebay, pay immediately with PayPal, pick the item up in person and then wait a couple of weeks and lodge a dispute for “Goods not received”. The seller claims that the item was collected in person, the buyer denies it and as the seller has no proof that they handed over the item and no tracking number to prove shipping of the item as far as PayPal is concerned the goods weren’t sent and the seller loses the goods and the money.

It is the same with bank transfers, only safe way to receive payment is crypto as it is not reversible and cannot be faked, second is cash in person. Problem with cash in person is the risk of counterfeit. Though I'm not sure how prevalent counterfeit notes are, but I do see a lot of places say they have detectors for them so it must be an issue.

How you prove that a face to face trade happened.
    1. Get a piece of A4 and write a receipt on it in marker pen. Like 12/12/12 5pm. EG: "ON dd/mm/yy Mr RRRR received item XXX for $$$$ which is full"
    2. You both sign it
    3. Get the buyer to stand next to you
    4. Take a selfie of the two of you with the paper held up in front.
    5. Give him the bit of paper
