I received a scale today although it took nearly a month for them to arrive. they seem to be very accurate and a top product made in China imported to the USA exported to me in Australia for the total sum of 20.98 us how that. if anyone want to who to contact let me know and I will pass on the information the scales go from 1 g to 600 plus troy oz etc. thanks everyone

Well that's not a very nice way to start out on a forum. It is quite obvious that he hit the e key before the v.
Not so much a spelling error than a typographical error.

    be nice...

I think you misspelt "can't". People in glass houses and all that.

I got an el cheapo made in china $7 set of ebay about 6-8 weeks ago and they worked fine when they first arrived. (.01g up to 200g)

Went to use them today and it seems they have bit the bullet. No text comes up on the LCD, only the backlight :(

Might invest in a quality set this time around, lesson learnt (again) I guess!

p.s. I carnt (sp) for the life of me see why such a big deal over spelling. Unless it's "loose" for "lose", that drives me nuts and I see it all the time!

An African king that kept his collection of royal chairs in the attic, was killed when his house collapsed.

ok. I am sorry I should not have said that. I just thought that the product that I had bought was good and others may want one. I am not selling anything so I have no self interest.

Oops - not meaning to have a go at you, it sounds like the set you have is different from mine, and chances are you might get years of good service out of them, at least I hope you do!

Up until today I was very happy with mine, and for the sake of $7 wasn't too big a risk to take!

    Thank you banjo. ;)

We are glad that you wanted to share with us something that you have purchased and found to be good, that's part of all of this.
Mate tell us a bit about the scales. What brand? have you got a pic. I am up for a new set so am interested in what you have found.
the current set I have I was using for weighing archery tips and are not spot on accurate, a fairly cheap bit of gear, but good for what I needed.

    Welcome to the site.

thank you for your response, the scales are AWS-Series 600. I bought them on ebay from www.evolveindustries.net
I have checked them against troy oz. and grams both are correct they go from 0.1 g to 600 g No photo sorry. Pocket size though. regards

I think it was very appropriate to point out that the price you paid for the scales was by no means cheap, so unless you can add why they are worth the addtional money (and transition duration which you've implied was extensive) then i fail to see the point of the post.

In short, you are recommending a more expensive product based on price, not exactly the best selling point when its twice the price i paid for a digi-scale that is fully operable. Does your one make a cup a joe while your getting your item ready to be weighed.

    Thanks for the insight. :)

Try some fresh batterys. Make sure they are alkaline. Often batterys that come with scales are just average. Try some energisers or another brand name.

I had hoped that was the problem but unfortunately not. I might rip the scales apart to "fix" them. After that I can get over the mourning period, throw them out, and move on

    That Sir, is indubitably so!
