Okay yes (74-76) to be exact, round fifties were pretty rough when it came to exact weight, book says 13.28g each but in reality they vary a fair bit.

You must of had a good average on that lot, here are the weights of four coins I pulled out of a selection of fifty coins, yes they are all real and all clean coins

I've never seen such variation in weight, and I've weighted dozens - that's over 10% difference. From memory there were three groupings of weights I used to encounter, about 0.1-0.2g apart indicating different planchet thicknesses.

I wouldn't be trusting those scales.

I have also weighed them on scales calibrated by the Federal Government body Weights & Measures to 0.01g Resolution with same results. I have probably handled over a ton of round fifties in my time and this is normal I can assure you. Happy to post these coins to Gold Stackers or ozzie if you want to verify.

My scales have shown similar variances to tozak's.

I grabbed a handful and there definitely seems to be some clustering around 2 (or maybe 3) weights as mentioned in the other post.

    12.4g seems horribly low.
