It's almost like its ok to brag about how many round fiddys you have cause its just 50 cents, but no ones going to give you any idea how many oz they have of AU and AG. There is a small battle going on amongst certain Adelaide stackers as to who has the most. Sadly I'm not in the running.
Yes if you do it right they come up awesome. I quite like how the ones that have gone black come up with a slightly dark toning too.
I'd be interested to see if the Adelaide group could collectively compete with the Sydney Kingpin of fiddy's, Sammysilver!
Get 1000 and you have 1/36000th of the total number outstanding thereabouts. Therefore only 36000 people could possibly hold 1000 at a time. Naturally some have been destroyed, damaged too badly to be any good, gone over seas perhaps the number would be closer to 1/30000th of the total. They are also coming up on 50 years old next year which might create furthert interest in them. 1000 should provide a decent coverage to go rolling around in but 10000 would be better!
Then you'll have to play WHAT'S IN THE BOX??!?!? http://forums.silverstackers.com/message-794956.html#p794956
Bear in mind when Mike and York Hunt cornered the silver market in 1980, silver hit US$50oz. Fifties were selling for $20 each and many were melted down. In addition, the RAM melted millions as well before release of the full 36 million. There may at most be only 15 million fifties left.
Thanks sammy. I love learning stuff like this. Quick question.. did the RAM melted ones get counted as part on the 36m release? Im a little vague on that.
no real logic for a premium on any coins or bars. Just us wanting or liking it and seeing that other people pay more
