Recommended gold miners for conservative investors.

    A friend asked me whether I could recommend some gold miners for conservative investors
    Sort of got stuck after Newcrest.
    Any members here care to offer an opinion on their favourites. :)

    If he's really conservative, tell him not to bother. Buy bullion, and for equities seek out high Return On Equity dividend paying non-resource stocks.

    If he wants to pay 10 - 15 times what he would have paid 4 years ago he could throw it at RRL, SLR, NST.

    Gold miners are volitile to a higher degree than the metal - I dont know what he means by 'conservative'

    If he means conservative as in scared stiff of things going down - there are no stocks to recomend

    If he means conservative as in he wants to preserve his purchasing power - any producers who are making steady or increasing profits each quarter ie. cash/bullion reserves is getting bigger from the start of one quarter to the next.

    He would have to do his own research, you can find asx listed gold producers through a google search. tell him to read the last 2 years of quarterly financial reports
