Get yourself a pelican case and some silica gel granules to keep the moisture out.

Vacuum seal in food grade polyethylene bags. These are stable and will not damage silver. To test if it is polyethylene cut a small piece and light it with a match. It will not support combustion without the match and burns with a sokey flame and smells like parrafin wax. You can buy rolls of these bags and they are cheap.

You can spend a lot of money protecting your silver, not always with great returns.

Over here if you buy capsules from a coin shop you can add an extra $1 to the cost coin, most people will expect to get the capsule for nothing when they buy the coin so you have to factor that price in.

Protecting from scratches is a good idea for some coins but trying to prevent tarnish is always going to be difficult and not always necessary. Old silver coins are expected to be tarnished, anything old that is bright and shiney looks cleaned.

I use food safe glad bags with the ziplock to keep out most of the moisture and air but it is not perfect. I have most of mine in capsules for some reason, not really necessary I guess but if they are well preserved they are easier to sell, despite silver being silver and American Silver Eagles being minted in the millions some people want their Eagles in perfect condition.

The only silver I have unprotected is junk silver.

You can get plastic coin slips that are free from softner, these will prevent scratches and you can chuck them all in a sealed bag. These might work out cheaper.

Won't stop the tarnishing though, nor the scratching.

Your best protection from theft is not letting anyone know you have anything worth stealing, and if you spend all your money on silver then you are going to look like a down and out depressed wierdo anyway.
