    Hi Folks,

has anyone here collected any of their orders from Ainslie’s cbd office this week? Or received orders to the reserve vault from Ainslie?

I know their online shop states the message below, but lack of contact is getting worrisome!

“Overview: The Ainslie online store is closed

COVID-19 UPDATE 17/3/20 – The webshop may be temporarily closed as we have been overwhelmed with an unprecedented number of orders and need to consolidate to ensure we don’t oversell stock. For the same reason we are unable to answer many phone calls. There is nothing to be concerned about in terms of our business, it is simply us ensuring we are doing the right thing by those who have already ordered. Please be patient.

Further Information: The Ainslie online store trades from 06:00am to 10:00pm most days of the year. During these hours you will normally be able to buy our produtcs online. Sometimes there are other reasons why the store is closed, for example, we could be experiencing technical difficulties in which case the store should be up and running very soon so please check back. If you believe that you are getting this message in error, please contact us to let us know.”

    COVID-19 BUSINESS UPDATE

This is an update on previous notices in terms of how COVID-19 is impacting on how we operate and service your needs. We are still dealing with unprecedented demand which is stretching our human resource capacity and supply chains. We have operated for over 45 year with honesty and fairness in servicing our customers as our main priority. Because this remains our focus we need to ensure we don’t sell any stock we don’t have or otherwise don’t tell you when you are pre-ordering stock we have already bought but not yet arrived.

    Please note the following implications:

    • In store purchases – we are experiencing very heavy demand and this can mean substantial wait times and the opposite of social distancing.
    • Webshop purchases – to ensure we can service web orders in a timely manner and keep across stock there are periods when the webshop is closed while we consolidate our position with in store orders. Please just check occasionally to see when it reopens.
    • Phones – whilst we concentrate on servicing those in out waiting room and processing weborders we have very limited capacity to answer phone calls. We understand this is a point of frustration and even concern. Should you need to contact us urgently please email us at [email protected]. Responses to emails can be later at night as we catch up on the backlog so please be patient.
    • Reserve Vault deliveries – all of the above means there is a longer than normal wait for us to deliver orders to Reserve Vault for collection by those who have a safe there. Rest assured your goods are secured in the interim.
    • Pricing – we are already seeing price rises from refiners as they too struggle to meet demand and some secure couriers have also substantially increased their rates amid the airline pressures. We have had to pass these on.
    • Delivery estimates – for goods that have "Order now – delivery late March" (for eg) on the website please understand these are estimates from refiners but are subject to the unknowns of how the virus may affect freight times.
    • Remember too that you can buy and sell our fully bullion backed (secured, insured and audited) gold and silver tokens (Gold Standard AUS and Silver Standard AGS) immediately on Coinspot 24/7 at rates better than most physical lines.
We have very substantial refiner/mint partners and have large amounts of stock coming where stocks are currently low or out. You can order with confidence of supply, you just may need to wait up to 5 weeks for some silver lines but we will always try to tell you before you order.

We thank you for your patience and understanding in this time and trust that in time you will look back at the efforts to make your precious metals purchase very worthwhile.

Seems like no supply issues, just significant demand. Makes sense if mum and dad can't earn interest on savings anymore they will look to the only alternatives that performed well last year, gold and silver!

Understandable in my opinion as I doubt we have ever seen this level of demand build up so quickly in Australia. Since January dealers have been inundated with foot traffic, not much time for emailing and answering phones.

    Hi Josh,

I’ve dealt with Ainslie in person this week. Both a sell and a buy transaction. They’re absolutely under the pump, there’s so much demand that they can’t keep up. There is stock there, but like every other dealer in the country right now they’re being seriously bought out by the rush to precious metals.

If possible, just go to the office and do a direct face to face transaction with them. You’ll get both your questions and your metals a lot faster that way.

I’m a regular client of theirs and I’ve never had any issues.

    Great to hear mongrelmaple.
Glad to get some first hand knowledge from this week!

We’ve used them a lot in the past too, and that’s why the delay in communication this time was disconcerting.

    Cheers
